  5. Anita!
Your basket weaving skills and baskets are amazing!
I loved all the photos you attached and the descriptions you put for each.
I’m blown away by the sheer extraordinary-ness that is your baskets!! They all look so professional and I can see the amount of work you put into each of them.
Keep up the awesome work (:

  6. Holy guacomole Anita, this is incredible!! Those are some amazing baskets and I actually gasped out loud when I saw the image on your post. I can tell you put a lot of work into this project and I absolutely love it! The videos of you weaving the scent cube tray was really relaxing and informative. Which basket was your favourite, or the most useful?

    1. Bana, thank you for your comment. It made me very happy to hear about your thoughts!! πŸ™‚ I’m really glad you liked my presentation, my favourite basket is the toilet roll basket! That sounds funny but it’s because it turned out the best/most according to plan. In other words, it’s the normalest and decentest basket I made, if that makes sense! Thanks again for your comment

    1. Hey Natalie, thanks a bunch!!! I shall take your advice–I do have a lot of project ideas and I must try my best to keep weaving πŸ™‚ Thanks for dropping by

  7. Your final post reflects your learning along the way very well. What was most challenging in terms of basket weaving? Do you have preference for one or another type of basket weaving material? Which and why?

    1. Hello Ms Mulder, the most challenging in terms of basket weaving was learning to weave a sturdy basket…there are many parts that can go wrong, for example cutting the material too short at the end, and the border is no longer as sturdy. A really great question, I’ve always favoured cane. There are so many sizes and projects to make with it, and different shapes of cane too! However, cane does need to be soaked, and although most basket-weaving materials need to be, the addition of water to my workspace can be troublesome. But I think that’s the appeal of it too! Thanks for asking these questions, Ms. Mulder!

  8. Thank you, Anita…I learned so much for your presentation. You did a wonderful job of documenting your process with images and with video…since this is hands-on learning, it really helped to see your hands in action! I appreciate how you were on a dual track, one with your mentor and another that was more independent.

You mentioned several times that sometimes objects did not turn out as planned or morphed into different shapes..what did you learn about how this happened…how did you learn to do to counting unwanted shapes?

I also loved the voice and choice you built into your project and how you gave your audience a chance to choose their own adventure…I made it to the end and you are right, that green hitting the water is very satisfying! Impressive learning!

    1. Hi Ms. Quach, thank you for your comment! I’m glad you learned something from my presentation and like it. Your question is a great one. To counter unwanted shapes (I think that’s your question πŸ™‚ ), I learned that my weaving always tapers outwards too much, so to counter that, I need to intentionally weave inwards. That’s what I did with the wastebasket, now that I think about, which turned out well.

      1. Thanks Anita…sorry about all the typos lol!

Ms. Dissenga was not able to post but here’s what she said.

Her basket weaving was is incredible…what a journey!

        1. Ms. Quach, so good to see you here again!!! Never mind the typos, I for one am certainly prone to typos! Tell Ms. Dissenga: Hi Ms Dissenga, your comment means so much to me, thank you so much. As I sit here on this special summer night, I realize, there are so many kind people out there, like you, to support me and my passion. Thank you so much and hope you have a great night/ whatever time of day too. From Anita
