“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” (67)

I am drawn to JRR Tolkien because I have been raised reading his books. When I was younger my stepdad read me the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. I loved to go to bed just so I can be immersed in the stories of the Shire. When I was older, I tried to read the Lord of the Rings, but I found it too hard, so I read the Hobbit instead. I loved it. The hobbit became the bar I set for every other book I read. I love reading JRR Tolkien’s work and I hope to learn more about him.

JRR Tolkien and I are both captivated by books. Although he learned to read books much earlier then I did, we both loved to create stories. When I was seven, I made a comic book about a robot cat with superpowers. We hope are very passionate about reading.

JRR Tolkien and I both have vivid imaginations. He loved to create mystical creatures and bring them to life in his writing and drawings. He is also was very determined. He never even thought to stop writing The Lord of the Rings. I wish I could be as determined as JRR Tolkien.

In TALONS I want to get better at writing. I hope by researching JRR Tolkien I can improve my writing. JRR makes me feel like I am falling into a different, magical world. I aspire to be able to have this effect on people. If I can immerse people in my writing, I would accomplish my goal for TALONS.

As much as I admire JRR Tolkien, I might have some problems connecting with him. Tolkien grew up in South Africa and England. This affects his experiences and living conditions. Another challenge I have relating to JRR is that he is a christen while I am an atheist. This affects our outlook on life a lot. I admire and appreciate JRR Tolkien a lot, but we have wildly different experiences and beliefs.

JRR Tolkien has revolutionized fantasy for children and adults alike. He combined the simple aspects of picture books while still having complex lore and background information. His writing in enjoyable for everyone. The Hobbit has a simple writing style and it is easy to follow, but if you dig a little deeper you can discover that it has complicated lore and deep meaningful scenes.

JRR’s legacy will remain for many years to come due to recreations of his work and the lasting impressions he has left upon people who have read his books. He wrote his world-famous book The Hobbit almost eighty-three years ago, and it is still very popular to this day. JRR deserves to be remembered because he is a timeless author that has inspired millions to read and write.

One of the greatest challenges JRR Tolkien faced is that he was orphaned at a young age. His father died when he was only four his mother died when he was twelve. His parents did not die early enough that he did not know them. His parents died at an age that will affect him forever.
