Digital Footprint Assignment

1. How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

  • well a digital foot print is something that stays on the intrenet forever and it leaves a mark on you and how you look like to other people or how peo0plw see you from their perspective. so if you have a really good social media or if you are not posting like nasty things on Instagram or twitter or any social plat form then you most likely will end up having a good job or good reputation because people with higher power can see everything maybe your future boss sees what you have or what you right on anything so it can really effect you if it is something good.
  • but if you go off writing bad things or acting inappropriate online maybe swearing or talking about how much you hate your job or how much you hate this person or other weird things like that it can really effect your ways or your rep in getting a job anywhere.

2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

  • the worst social media to be on is twitter because anyone can see what you are saying so i suggest if you are going to say anything at all stay away from twitter but thats only if you are going to say something really rude, nasty, mean , offensive, harming or hurtful towards anyone because it can really damage someone else and even you.
  • dont get into online fights with anyone public or private it can turn out very bad especially if you don’t know the person because they could your future boss or even bigger than that they could know the people you work for and get you fired or it could be really hard for you to find a good job that will except you after that.
  • dont try to ruin others reputations by exposing them or making them look bad online because it makes you look like a worse person and it makes you look like a cyber bully or just a straight up bully. and in the end it never helps you out it will always make things worse for you and make you go to hell and back just from a silly mistske

3. If you could go back in time, is there anything you would do differently online? Think of what type of advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students. How could you go about explaining it to them?

  • if i could go back in time I would tell myself to stop saying nasty things to people when they were rude to me especially if it was anonymous because anonymously people would be very rude to me so I would say stuff back but nothing really bad I was in grade 7 I didn’t even swear so I mean I guess I would tell myself that I shouldn’t get so worked up it can ruin a lot in my future.
