DIGITAL LITERACY: REMOTE LEARNING – REFLECTION

  • .What are your thoughts on remote learning and your experience with it? What have you liked and disliked it?

At first, it has been incredibly difficult transitioning from traditional high school to online learning, but gradually because the month’s glide by I’m slowly beginning to getting used to it. Though I’m not getting an honest amount of social interaction from my peers, I find online learning to be rather more beneficial on behalf of me as a student. Not being in the pressurized environment of a classroom gives me the opportunity to learn at my own pace, whether that be faster or slower than the original classroom, and if clarification is required, I can simply rewind the lecture videos my teachers are putting out, or send an email to my teacher quickly and efficiently.

  •  How has technology benefitted you during the remote learning experience?

With a web connection, I’ve got access to information at my fingertips 24 hours daily. I can find almost anything online, in its hottest version. on behalf of me as a student, this implies access to everything from research materials and academic apps to interactive edutainment and open resources from prestigious universities around the world. I may, however, need instruction on the way to find credible resources and direction on providing proper attribution once I use them.

  •   How has technology impeded you during the remote learning experience?

The internet has recently become such a large part of our everyday lives, providing many benefits but also providing some disadvantages. In schools, there are usually strict rules about phone use in classrooms thanks to the temptation and also the constant distraction. but thanks to COVID 19, everyone does online learning from their houses, and there aren’t any strict rules about phone use in our homes.
There are nearly always other things I’d preferably be doing than working on homework and studying. Whether that be playing video games or watching Netflix.

  • What is one core competency that you already were proficient with that helped you transition into remote learning? Provide one piece of evidence to support your answer.

Effective and proper communication skills are my biggest strength, and it has helped me to transition from traditional high school to online learning. Communication skills are important for online learning because students need help when needed. I can use style and language that suits the school. Interacting with teachers and other staff, I write with complete, grammatically correct sentences and a respectful tone.

I developed Effective Time-Management Skills during my remote learning experience it really helped me a lot, good time management allows me to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which leads to more free time, which lets me take advantage of learning opportunities, lowers my stress, and helps me focus, which leads to more success in my academics. Each benefit of time management improves another aspect of my life.
