Building grit and resilience
1. During Quarter 1, what went well for you?
- i really enjoyed quarter 1 because I have learned new things and getting to know others. In the first class I had in quarter 1 I felt a bit nervous at first, but at the end of the quarter I felt more comfortable. I feel comfortable in my classes now because I like the environment and I feel like I have the help I need.
2. During Quarter 1, what did you find challenging or disappointing or stressful?
- When we have face to face classes I feel like I can be more focused and stay on task. When we have online learning, It’s a bit challenging because I feel as that I cant stay as organized or be motivated to learn.
3. Think of ONE thing you really want to improve in Quarter 2 (and Q 3&4). Examples: a school subject, a sport, time spent on homework/studying, playing a musical instrument, leadership skills, a language, photography, a relationship, general fitness.
- Since we are starting the quarter 2, my goals are staying on task, finishing my homework, and being organized (having a schedule, bringing supplies I need for class etc.)
4. What are two specific actions that you can start doing every day to get closer to your goal? How long will you spend on this action each day? What part of the day?
a) I like to write down my schedule and my daily reminders because it helps me stay more organized. To achieve this goal I will write down in my notebook so that I can stay organized.
b) I come prepared to school with the supplies I need like my binder, pencil case, and device. Since I have math in quarter 2, I will come prepared with my calculator.
5. If you experience challenges, what might you do to work through them? Examples: ask help from a friend or parent; break the task into smaller chunks; “google” how other people may deal with similar problems.
- If I have challenges or if I’m stressed out, I like have time to myself or be with my family/friends that I can talk to. Ways for me too feel better is listening to music. It helps me be more calm and it can also help me focus.
