Kanamu

Kanamu was born in Japan. She was raised in Japan until the age of 8 and have been in Canada since. She has two younger siblings. She is involved in activities such as scouts and cadets. 

Favorite hobbies, interests, sports:

  • volleyball 
  • anime
  • novels (black thorn key is my favorite)
  • making a crochet animals 
  • badminton 

The sites that are meaningful to me are, cool math games and Wikipedia. The reason why I chose cool math games was because that game was the first game I played at school when I came to Canada and that was very meaningful to me. The reason why Wikipedia is important to me is because it always gives me the brief information that I need basically about anything.

the reason why this picture was important or meant a lot to me was because I knew what the picture meant and how it applied to me. I think the meaning of the picture was something like, if the person you are closest to stands out from the others, you would feel like the shadow and your skill won’t grow. I think this picture could have multiple meanings depending on how you see this picture, but that is what I see in this picture.

Why I chose this picture was because I felt that the meaning of the picture deep and meaningful. What I think the meaning of the picture is something like, everyone can be unique in a certain way, but at the same time everyone wants to be normal, live a normal life, just be normal. I think it may be just a difference in culture, but I am sure there are people who are who wants to be different from everyone else, but people who are born differently, would want to be like everyone else.

This is one of my favorite YouTube videos I can think of. You might be thinking well this person must be insane to like a video like this, but the reason why I like this video is because of types of phobias I didn’t know I have, and the type of art style the person has is very intriguing to look at.

1. How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

Negative:

  • not being able to get a certain jobs, because if it was something like a actor or actress, then your reputation matters a lot meaning if your reputation online is bad, even if your skill is very good they might not hire you. Some jobs other than actors could check your online status.

Positive:

  • can build good reputation online, if you can build good reputation online then you can get trust from people around you because unless you be mean or something, there really isn’t any reasons why they would dislike you.

 

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

you can:

  • think before you post (don’t post anything hurtful or mean)
  • always make your account private ( so no strangers would go into your account)
  • change passwords often (to avoid getting hacked, or taken over)

3. If you could go back in time, is there anything you would do differently online? Think of what type of advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students. How could you go about explaining it to them?

If I get to go back in time I would tell myself to not trust others when it comes to something to do online. I would tell other students to change their passwords often, think before they post and don’t post anything that could hurt anyone. I have seen many people in the social media hurting each other and breaking their relationships online. I would say to them something like, “If you hurt people or post inappropriate things online, you are not just hurting people, but you are breaking the reputation you have online and if your future boss sees this, somehow you might not get certain jobs, depending on the situation.” and I would also say that to my younger self so that incase people around me won’t believe me when I go back in time, maybe I can convince them before things happen.
