About Me

Sadie🧜🏻‍♀️

Hi! I’m Sadie, and I was a mermaid in one past life, a sloth in another.

Didn’t quite know what to do for this part, so here’s a list of things that I love:

  • the Legend of Zelda games (specifically Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild)
  • painting with watercolours
  • drawing magical beings
  • sleeping in late
  • My Hero Academia
  • chocolate peanut butter ice cream
  • video game soundtracks (both remixes and originals)
  • Steven Universe
  • the new Doom Patrol show
  • Dogs!

A couple of hyperlinks to cool sites:

My favourite song

I decided to put a link to this because it’s mind-blowing in so many ways- not only is the song really cool (it’s a thrilling four minute-eight second saga about fighting wrongdoers in space with your buddies), but the animation is breathtaking.  Like, every frame is gorgeous, the colour palette is magical, the character designs are really unique, and there’s so much attention to every little detail.  As an artist who wants to one day go into character design/ possibly animating, I love it for so many reasons, and I am working hard to improve to this level and beyond.

Spotify, home of my favourite tunes

I really didn’t know what to put for this part, so I put a link to an app/ website I use pretty much every day.  Spotify is great because not only is it not outrageously expensive, it’s actually worth the money- I can listen to all the Steven Universe songs and video game soundtracks I want, and the radios can lead one anywhere.  As I’m writing this, actually, I’ve had the Steven Universe: The Movie soundtrack on repeat!

A couple of neat pictures:

This is a self- advertisement, I know, but this is one of my proudest achievements.  I made it for my little sister for her birthday, and it took me around two and a half weeks to finish it.  Like I mentioned a few times before, I love Legend of Zelda, especially Breath of the Wild (which is the game these characters are from), so this piece, difficult as it was at times, was good fun to draw, paint and ink.  It’s easily one of the most (if not the most) intricate paintings I’ve ever made, and I’m really super freaking proud of how it came out.

This one isn’t necessarily about the picture (though it is one of my favourites), it’s about the subject.  This is Eddie, my dog- a six-year-old English springer spaniel who’s all warm fluff, inside and out, which I think this picture perfectly encapsulates.  I remember when we first got him, I didn’t even register how cute he is until my mom pointed it out on the ride home (which he puked on, but don’t mind that), and he’s full of so much love, happiness and warmth that I can’t imagine life without him.  Sure, everyone who has a dog loves them and won’t stop gushing about every little cute thing they do, but this squishy little boy may quite possibly be the best boy, and I stand by that statement!
