If I post something immature, embarrassing, offensive, or illegal, then my employer might be discouraged from hiring me, regardless of how long it’s been since I posted it. If any incriminating posts are revealed, it could end my career and destroy any future possibilities of success.
2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
Ask myself before I post something, whether I would be fine with my parents seeing it. If not, then I would certainly not post it. If the post could be incriminating or indicting in any way, I will not post the thing. I will never harass, cyberbully, threaten, or attempt to harm someone over the internet.
3. If you could go back in time, is there anything that you would do differently online? Think of what advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students.
Avoid arguing with anyone online. Online arguments are often irrational and pointless, and usually result in every participant looking like a fool.
