I turn and run from the spot, the blood that is still splattered there is just to painful to look at; I can still feel the throbbing wound on the back of my head, but I can’t focus on that, I still feel responsible for David being out here, if Anniya hadn’t stopped to help me after I almost died she could have stopped David from getting lost and now he could be dead, and that’s on me.
I can’t get the image of his face out of my head, how upset I know Anniya would be if he died and how upset i would be. I can’t tell how far I’ve run, I certainly haven’t been calling Davids name, so i stop and yell “David”, his name echo’s around the forest. suddenly I notice a strange noise in the distance.

a) investigate, it could be David
b) turn and run in the other direction, i have no idea what is in this forest
