In-Depth Blog Post #4

Hi again!

Welcome to my 4th In-Depth Blog Post! I had 1 meeting my mentor since the last blog post. Last time my brush broke, but I managed to get a new one so that was good. I also practiced my new skills from last lesson. I still found it difficult to make everything perfect, but as my mentor says, I shouldn’t strive to get everything perfect and just do my best. However, I know I should keep practicing and try to improve.

Question 1: What has been my most difficult mentoring challenge so far? Why?

The biggest challenge so far has been trying to schedule a meeting time that works for both of us. I have a busy schedule and my mentor just came back so there were a lot of conflicts in our planning. We managed to find a time that worked for both of us.

Question 2: What has been working well?

A lot has been going well in my opinion! I feel like I’m making progress even though I never had any experience with my topic before. My mentor also supports me and helps whenever I’m struggling. We also communicate effectively for most of the time. If we have a problem and need to reschedule, we’ll contact each other ahead of time to avoid any conflicts.

Question 3: What could be working better? How can you make sure this happens?

I don’t think that there is much that needs to work better, I’m pretty satisfied about my progess so far and I am satisfied on how the meetings are structures. If I had to choose something, it will be the time I am taking to practice my skills every week. I feel like I haven’t been practicing enough, even though progress is being made, however I don’t think I can change this as easily since my schedule is very tight.

Thank you for reading my blog post!
