Brainstorming

Plot – a sort of sci-fi/surreal Time manipulation story set in the current day. In where the villain is attempting to save only 100 people while time crumbles so that they can fix it and reverse it. But the hero would rather save none then save few.

Characters

  • Main protagonist – layered and multi dimensional. Growing as a character through the story
  • Antagonist/Antihero? – very multi dimensional constantly changing and getting more interesting
  • Secondary character – relatively static but does have a slight Arc

Characterization

  • Main protagonist – Very smart brave and dedicated but struggles with deeper emotional issues and conflicts. Struggles with the weight of the universe being on him and him alone. His appeared selfless acts gives the reader the sense that he is the good guy solely focused on stopping the bad guy.
  • Antagonist/Antihero? – Difficult to understand smart convincing and dedicated. But Struggles with issues beyond his control in the universe.  We assume his actions are with evil intent but through these actions it is revealed that his intent was good
  • Main Secondary character – not very confident quiet and introverted. Struggles with suddenly having the weight of the universe on his shoulders. Very static throughout. Contributes to assisting the main character of the story through these actions we get the sense they are a good guy.

Symbols

  • The use of time itself in the story is a symbol for how our characters have no control over the universe even if they may manipulate time the universe has a set future.

Foreshadowing

  • At some point during the beginning of the story there will be an event or something that happens that at the beginning of the story we shrug off as nothing but at the end of the story it is revealed that it was actually a sort of warning by our protagonist to stop himself from setting events in motion.

Irony

  • We believe throughout the story hes going to save time and beat the bad buy but in beating the bad guy he dooms time.

Theme layers

  • L1- Who? The protagonist, the antagonist, the main secondary character

  • Feelings. Emotions do not play a major role in my story but there are many emotional moments
  • The have fear For the end of the world
  • They must be brave even in this event.
  • The battle of good and “evil”

  • L3 : imagery and mood.

  • We all fear things out of our control.

  • We will do anything to save our loved ones and or the world.

  • The “villain” is made out to be evil by the hero simply due to his less risky way of doing things.

  • L4: SYMBOLS

  • Time is a symbol for the inability to control ones fate.

  • Fear of trying to save some to help the rest – evil

  • Risking everything to try and save everyone – good

Theme statement

  • The theme of this story is that none of us control time and we should live every minute of it the best way we can.

Identity.

  • I think that with this time manipulation plot the way I can connect identity to it is by trying to make my hero have no real sense of identity. And he only discovers his true self while on this fight through time. Something like his past self didn’t know what the future held but now that hes experienced life this way he has a true sense of purpose. A true sense of identity.
