Hello I’m back again and I have an update. I was originally going to do SFX make-up but there were too many complications with finding and contacting mentors. I decided it would be in my best interest to pick another topic for In-Depth, so I have changed my In-Depth to interior design.

My mentor is a lady named Shona, my mother recommended her to me and she graciously agreed to help me. I had actually met Shona once before because I went to one of my mother’s BNI meetings for take your kid to work day. Shona owns a buisness called Heart Space Interiors. She has over twelve years of experience in this field. I will be meeting up with Shona soon but we are still in the process of finalizing the exact date and time that works for both of us.

So far my mentor has been really kind while we have been emailing back and forth and is very willing to do whatever forms or anything that needs to be done as a mentor. I believe Shona will really help me with my In-Depth as there is so much I can learn from her since she is a professional. And for my final project we are going to be redecorating my bedroom. I’ve determined this is the best way to fully showcase my new abilities and everything I have learned from her while doing interior design.

Once I meet up in person with Shona we will be able to talk in more detail as it is hard to get to know someone well when your only form of communication is email. I have many questions for her, want to get to know her better, and want to learn as much as I can from her. Shona seems like a very professional lady and I am super excited to work with her for the next four months.
