- When you are applying for a job they will look at your digital footprint which may affect their decision of hiring you or not
- If your digital footprint is inappropriate or has negative stuff on it then people might make assumptions about you that aren’t true based on what they see which could take away from future opportunities
2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
- Think before you post something online
- Ask yourself if it is something that you want connected to your name for the rest of you life
- Consult other people before putting something online
3. If you could go back in time, is there anything you would do differently online? Think of what type of advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students. How could you go about explaining it to them?
If I could go back in time and do something differently I would wait longer before starting to use Instagram and Snapchat. I would tell myself that there is no need to create an account until later on in life and that it is a distraction that can be avoided.
