A good digital footprint might help back claims you make on your resume when employers check, giving validation to what you are saying.

If you were to get really popular, whether liked or disliked, sketchy stuff about you that you thought nobody would see could all of the sudden be showed and seen by many people everywhere.

Stop yourself before you post and make sure that it…

• doesn’t put someone down or hurt someone, or show you as a bully. Be respectful
• is necessary for you to post. It is important to be aware of over-posting, and to only post things that are necessary

Don’t share personal information or opinions on controversial subjects with people you don’t trust; never agree to meet someone you met online in person.

3. If you could go back in time, is there anything that you would do differently online? Think of what advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students.

I don’t think I would change much, except I would maybe be slower to fall for tricks like scams and stuff as I have fallen for a few, though I have mostly been let off easy with little consequences. Still I would urge people to really think before clicking on links, downloading “games” or other things, or even opening a suspicious email.
