I am back! And with supplies.
The supplies I ended up picking up were an eyeshadow palatte, foundation, concealer, contour, blush, highlighter, two eye brushes, three blenders, an eyebrow pencil, an eyebrow spoolie, eyeliner, lipstick, and micellar water (as a makeup remover).
The only two initial products I used were a lipgloss and my mascara.
I chose orange for the eyeshadow colour. I wasn’t sure how it’d turn out for my very first time and it seemed a little daunting but through a trial and error process I think it turned out fairly good. I started by doing my left eye with eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. Then I had to try and duplicate the same thing to the other eye. I will admit this was ridiculously hard for me and I kept having to wipe parts off to redo since my eyes didn’t look symmetrical.
Eventually I got it done though and moved on to applying foundation and concealer with the blender.
At this point I looked like a poorly rendered video game character. Darkening my eyebrows only seemed to make it look more comical. Then I put on a lipstick with gloss over top which was the easiest since i’d worn both lipstick and lipgloss before.
The final touches I needed to add was applying the powered contour, highlighter, and blush. In conclusion… I did not like this part. I forgot to buy the brushes needed for this so I ended up using some of my mom’s. Little did I know this was only the beginning of my struggles with the three powders. The first thing I did was look up the chart for where to put each part in order to match my face shape.
I put each in the directed areas and already noticed I had put too much contour on. I tried rubbing it off, it didn’t work. Then when trying to blend I was trying to blend the brush kept shedding since it was apparently really bad quality. All in all I hated this last step and need to improve the most with it.
The final product turned out like this:
Yes I am aware I look odd.
After I did all this I ended up washing it all away since it was late at night and I had no plans to go out looking like this. I used a cleanser, then a toner, and finished a moisturizer to make sure my skin was going to be okay after putting on more makeup than I ever had in the past.
Soon I will be trying new eyeshadow colours and working to improve my contouring skills aswell as cleaning up how my eyebrows. Some time later on I’m considering picking up a primer, fake lashes, setting spray, better quality brushes, a darker lipstick, or more eyeshadow colours.
Due to this being my first time I was nervous and didn’t take any pictures of the actual process so I’ll be sure to get some next time I do it!
On top of everything I’m also most likely going to practice different parts separately since I may not always have time to do my whole face everytime.
All in all this was a really cool experience for me and I’m excited to try different colours next time.
