Progress Report

Since my last meeting, an inconvenience has arisen that has made the entire process of practicing a lot more difficult. Simply put, we can not use the gyms for Thursday practice anymore, due to scheduling conflicts with the Leadership schedule. Mr. Salisbury’s first commitment is to his job as a TALONS teacher, and because of his leadership schedule, he is now busy during block Y of Thursdays. Despite our struggles to arrange something with the teachers involved with the basketball clubs, it turns out the only day that’s free is thursday after school, so there has been talk of moving practice to X block once a week instead, but no finalized plans have been made. Despite these issues, both Gyu-min and I have continued to practice individually, with me personally still playing with my brother, and the second week of no practice Gyu-min and I decided to take matters into our own hands and practice skills we already knew needed to be worked on directly outside the school, using a volleyball he had and making sure both of us sanitized our hands before and after using the ball.

I’ve also begun my more in depth research of the rules and strategies of the game in light of not being able to actually practice as much. I’ve started watching international matches from years past to pick up technique and cues and terms for what the professionals are doing, in hopes of learning a new technique or two.
