Your digital footprint might affect your future opportunities because if a potential employer sees you being immature and unresponsible online they won’t think you are very mature and responsible in real life. Or if you are shown being racist, sexist, or rude that will be on the internet forever for anyone to see how you acted that one time.

2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

Don’t ever comment something hateful or rude. Be kind and supportive and don’t spam. Think about what you are going to post before you do it. Just be a decent human being .

3. If you could go back in time, is there anything you would do differently online? Think of what type of advice you would pass on to your younger self or other students. How could you go about explaining it to them?

If I could go back in time I wouldn’t change anything I did digitally, (besides making cringy videos), because I only really got social media last year which in my opinion is fairly good that I haven’t had it for long. So I guess my advice would be not to get social media at such a young age because it is kind of a black hole that absorbs your attention whether you think it will or not.
