    1. There was a moment after I started working on my final project where I just sat down and began experimenting with different instruments and melodies and working creatively in the program. That was the moment I realized that I had full creative control with the tools I learned to use, and I could make something really awesome. That was probably my favourite moment 🙂

  1. The video was a masterpiece 🙂 and the song is kinda bangin tho, 11/10! Definitely will be adding to playlists. Question, what would you say your favourite part of the music making process was?

    1. Thank you! My favourite part of the process was definitely adding MIDI instruments. Digital instruments are so much easier to customize and work with than recording audio, and adding all those different sounds really made the music come to life.

  2. Beautiful song, Indah! I really enjoyed the chords, vocals, and ukelele to create a unique and relaxing atmosphere.

  3. Indah, this is incredible! I absolutely loved Hope For The Summer – I was super excited to hear it ever since I got that first preview a while ago! I was wondering if there are any artists (other than your mentor, of course!) that inspired you during the songwriting and producing process. Thanks for sharing this!!

    1. Ahh thank you so much Grace I’m so glad you like it! The reference track that I was using is “Hideaway” by Grace Vanderwaal, and she has been a huge inspiration in my music since middle school. I actually wrote this song a year ago when I was much more into her, so she’s a big influence. Other than her specifically I was inspired by other singer-songwriter indie musicians like Dodi, Chloe Moriondo, and mxmtoon.

  4. Yes girl!! So honoured to have been able to be a part of this. You are gonna be the next big thing, I feel it! So proud of you, your skills are already so far beyond where I was when I started. YOU DID IT!!

    1. Thank you so much Anja!!! I really couldn’t have done any of this without you, I’m going to be taking everything you’ve taught me with me in all my music from here on out. Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration and supportive mentor and friend!

  5. What a beautiful song, Indah! It sounds like you have learned a great deal. Looking forward to hearing more of your music in the future.

  7. Wow! You have learned how to produce your own creations. I was super impressed with the layers of sound. I look forward to hearing your tastes develop and evolve. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing your gift.

  8. You are so talented Indah! Look forward to hearing more of your music in the future!

  9. Ahh, I loved the song!! I am probably going to put it on repeat all night tonight! Great job and keep making more songs. <3

  10. Hi Indah…Angie here! SO impressed by all the work that went into your song. Very impressive how you learned to produce your own music (not just write it and sing it). You must be so proud of your final product! EXCELLENT! I love the song!

  11. What a pretty song! You have a very nice voice. I enjoyed this very much Indah. Good stuff!!

  12. Indah – It has been such a treat to watch your amazing skills develop from back at Kway to now! 🙂 This sounds like this was the perfect In-depth for you. Congratulations…I can really sense your digging-in to this process and learning.

    1. Thank you so much Ms. Lewis! It’s definitely been a journey developing my songwriting since middle school.

  13. Indah this is PHENOMENAL!! How!?!? You are so so talented and telligent and your videos were fantastic! WOW!!

  14. Wow Indah! That really was an amazing song! I can tell you’ve put in a lot of passion into your music.

  15. Thanks Indah…I really appreciated you walking us through the process! Your final product is so professional..I love the stripped down start and then the building up of layers and then ending with simplicity again! How much would you say it would cost to set up to produce one’s own music in terms of hardare? Thank you!

    1. Thank you Ms. Quach! I would say if you are aiming to get the basics a simple mic, an interface, and a MIDI keyboard, the total price range would be around $400- $450. However, as long as you have a good DAW (such as Pro Tools First, which is free) you can still make some pretty insane music using just your laptop.
