I chose Usain bolt as the eminent person that I am researching. I am drawn to Usain bolt because of his sheer will and perseverance. Usain bolt faced many challenges such as growing up poor. Usain bolt is a prime example that if you put hard work in, anything almost anything can be accomplished. He demonstrates that’s it’s about mentality and the person, and not the environment. I hope that this project will allow me to learn from Usain Bolt and to pick up some of his aspiring characteristics. Usain bolt has shown determination, resourcefulness and patience in his career and I hope that by studying and researching about him I can obtain some of these qualities.
Usain bolt has shown eminence time and time again. In the field of sprints specifically, he has won 8 gold medals in three different Olympic years(2008, 2012, 2016). He has won eight Olympic medals, all gold, in the 100-meter sprint, 200-meter sprint, and in the 4 x 100-meter sprint. Usain bolt left a mark not only in the field of track sports but also in the world. Usain bolt holds the standard for track and field today, and all participants in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints all aim to beat his record. Usain has also
By holding the record for the fastest 100-meter and 200-meter sprint for over 10 years, Usain bolt has had many interviews, books, and documentaries/movies made about him. Usain bolt has gained a lot of fame from his Olympic adventures and has. Even when someone eventually surpasses his record, I do not think that he will be forgotten that easily. I believe that people will still remember him in ten or fifty years in the future, simply because of the impact he made and how famous he got. With his prize money, Usain has donated to many charities and has also helped his village which would help further generations.
Usain Bolt is an eight-time gold medal winner, and as much success as he had, he has had an equal number of challenges. Usain bolt grew up in a small village called Trelawny Parish on the north coast of Jamaica. Living in a third-world country has its problems but add on living in a village as primitive as Trelawny Parish, shows how truly eminent of a person he is. Usain bolt grew up with a limited supply of water (The Guardian, 1) and electricity which made life just that more difficult. His father worked at the local store, and with a brother and a sister, there was not that much money to spare in his family. Usain bolt overcame these obstacles thanks to his family and community. I really liked how you went deeper than just his talents and skills and how I got to learn more about Usain Bolt’s values and backstory.
